[biofuel] Strange Off Topic Question

2004-06-05 Thread Phil Dodd

That is most likely self-explanitory, I just want to be sure...as I
am looking at diesel vehicles for sale I am finding a large number
of american made vehicles talking about having their engines
rebuilt. When I am looking at european cars, specifically mercedes
benz, I am not seeing anything about the engines having been rebuilt
even up to 200,000 miles. Am I missing something, or do american
engines just suck?

[biofuel] Re: PLEASE READ - MODERATOR'S MESSAGE

2004-06-24 Thread Phil Dodd

Keith,

Having been a list memeber on various lists with yahoo over the past
10 years I am well aware of these kind of mess ups. And Yahoo is
known for lending a deaf ear to anything that doesn't effect them
personally.

[biofuel] Re: How's Come Berkely is the Hot Bed of Forward Thinking.

2004-07-06 Thread Phil Dodd

My faith in mankind has been restored. For one, I have received
communication from some brewers who are is fairly close proximity
that I can look over their shoulders in my learning stage. Girl-
Mark is having the DC seminar unfortunately when I am on the
Atlantic shore doing my best imitation of a beached whale, but she
is coming back in September and I will be attending that seminar
come hell or high water. So my spirits have been bolsterd.
Replying back to bioveg...I have an in with the wvo as I work for
a grocery chain who fries their own chicken. I have access in my
store alone to 25 gallons a week of fryer grease. I also pass 6
stores daily going to and from work where I could conceivable pick
up another 25 gals in each store. I don't have to go ask just yet
and be looking over my shoulder for the grease cops..

[biofuel] Ok Since I Stirred the Pot Some...

2004-07-09 Thread Phil Dodd

How about some ideas to get some activism going. Or to address the
question in more understandable way, how does one become active in
the biodiesel movement on a local level. I live in Pennsylvania and
am in contact with a few folks who are making for their own use.
Who should I be contacting to find out if there is a larger group of
folks who are being vocal on a local and state level? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil

[biofuel] Howdy,

2004-08-05 Thread Phil Dodd

I am setting up my physical plant for processing and use of the
excess glycerin. One intergral part of that was a waste oil heater
to provide heat for our house. I also wanted to burn my wco in it.
Going to the web page for the plans I now see a disclaimer by MEN
that talks about the higher flash points on todays vehicles. I
address this to anyone out there who is burning wco, have you had to
make any modifications on your waste oil heater to use wco. And
what about the EPA standards? Is there concern about running afoul
of yet another government agency in trying to keep this stuff out of
our water supply?

Thanks for any info,

Phil
