'.epub' extension is not an iBooks exclusive ;) It's an e-book. Find yourself a
capable reader :)

I've been playing with Swift in Linux contexts, but I was wondering, how am
I meant to avail myself of reference materials?
The Swift book is written in iBooks...so I don't have access to that. I'd
love for there to be a PDF equivalent that I could leave on the Linux
server to work with.
