 1. Linux + dedicated ethernet port + vmware/xen
 2. two boards from PCengines.com + USB-cable + custom
housing

1. I don't want to use i386 architecture
2. No, I don't really want to use i386 architecture :)

well, there is some work being done in building a virtualization environment
for ARM Cortex processors. But I'm thinking more of a universal appliance where
the two linux instances could be used independently or together, depending on
the application.

Hi

There are two cheap ways to realise your idea quiet cheap.

1. Linux + dedicated ethernet port + vmware/xen
2. two boards from PCengines.com + USB-cable + custom
   housing

 hi all,

I posted a new idea for a piece of Linux hardware that might be useful in
various network tests, and also as a gateway appliance. Basically it's two
embedded Linux boards in one enclosure, interconnected via USB inside:

The GizmoForYou is a community-driven project where people vote for new
gizmo designs, and the guys implement and sell them.

Would you be interested in such an appliance? Or maybe you have some
other special needs which could be added in it?

 thanks,
