On a side note, there is the Coral Content Distribution Network,
that can be used for free for single files or websites for free.
It acts like a giant worldwide proxy as I understand it.

as I wrote before, I'm just interested in the technology. I don't want
to build a CDN for productive use. We're quite happy with our clustered
hosting platform.
