Re: [swinog] SwiNOG-18 (details for tomorrow)
I'm awaiting the day my mobile phone gets a IPv6 address allocated over GPRS/EDGE/3G... but knowing Swisscom's quick implementation schedule for new things, I think I will wait for a while there... On the other hand, mobile is the biggest driver for IP use. There are still more mobiles than computers. And frankly, broken NAT's suck. I remember well where i couldn't send mail from my phone for days just because some stupid NAT screwed up the SMTP sessions on port 25 of my mailserver. Re: [swinog] Two-in-One linux box
Hi There are two cheap ways to realise your idea quiet cheap. 1. Linux + dedicated ethernet port + vmware/xen 2. two boards from PCengines.com + USB-cable + custom housing Cheers /adibar On Thu, Apr 02, 2009 at 01:28:22PM -0700, Stanislav Sinyagin wrote: > > hi all, > > I posted a new idea for a piece of Linux hardware that might be useful in > various network tests, and also as a gateway appliance. No, I don't really want to use i386 architecture :) well, there is some work being done in building a virtualization environment for ARM Cortex processors. But I'm thinking more of a universal appliance where the two linux instances could be used independently or together, depending on the application. ___ swinog mailing list swinog@lists.swinog.ch http://lists.swinog.ch/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/swinog
