Hi Serge

the service was very valuable over the last few years - or better: since the 
beginning of the swiss internet. like you said: pioneering.
kind of a 'phaseout' of a well known, superbe service :)
but yes, there are other ressources (e.g. pool.ntp.org).

but I would like to thank also ETH for their service over the last years.
