A couple more George anecdotes...
Who can forget "'The Intercourse News', where families are doing things
together..." sadly, that fine periodical ceased publication in roughly 2015
or thereabouts, so he could no longer use it as a prop as he was beginning
the annual raffle shtick.

I always looked forward to reading his e-mails. There was a certain “Jean
Shepherd”-like air to them. They would start with the topic at hand, but then
meander all over the place. If the subject was radio-related, they would start
there but maybe then make

with . He most certainly will be missed, especially at the SWL winter fest. RIP

I came to my first Fest about 12 or so years ago primarily to drive my friend
and neighbor, Don Schimmel who was beginning to have problems driving long
distances. I had my ham license but hardly made use of it. I enjoyed a casual
