I got a response from Martin Denham. He said that AndBible does not automatically display introductory material, other than
verse 0. In AndBible am getting the introductions within chapters, but nothing before chapter 1 or before a book.

it will grab verse 0 for the chapter. You have to get the entire book to get
chapter 0. Or explicitly request 0. E.g. Matt.0.0-1.ff.

In Xiphos, the Introductory material is displaying the way you describe, which is what I want.
But in AndBible, only the text that is withing the tags is displaying.
