[sword-devel] Bibledit - USFM2OSIS export getting redone
Hi, I thought I should give you all a heads up that Teus Benshop is planning just now to expand/redo the existing USFM2OSIS export mechanism in Bibledit. See here: http://savannah.nongnu.org/task/?8075 I am thinking this might be of interest to some here on the mailing list - particular as he is normally extremely fast in putting his plans into practice. I have used in the past Bibledit to produce modules where usfm2osis.pl had difficulties. It had a nice way of steamrollering through USFM encoding problems and get on nevertheless, while usfm2osis.pl would flake out - which was very helpful in its way. [sword-devel] William Morgan's Welsh Bible (1620 edition)
I have just discovered that digitization of the William Morgan 1620 edition of the Welsh Bible is well underway. [sword-devel] Neural Networks and Optical Character Recognition
It seems to me that there must be a number of Bible related digitization projects around the world where those involved may not be taking full advantage of the use of Neural Network computing in OCR applications. This 2003 article by Alex Cherkasov covers some of the techniques involved. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/simple_ocr.aspx http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/simple_ocr.aspx The author's company includes products in this application area, for both the .NET environment and Delphi. http://www.xpidea.com/ http://www.xpidea.com/ Prices for these Neural Network code libraries are quite reasonable. Proper selection of software tools could speed up the digitization of other public domain Bible editions in various languages. Further discussion on this topic is welcome, especially if any forum members have expertise in this area. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Neural-Networks-and-Optical-Character-Recognition-tp16850434p16850434.html Sent from the SWORD Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ sword-devel mailing list: sword-devel@crosswire.org http://www.crosswire.org/mailman/listinfo/sword-devel Instructions to unsubscribe/change your settings at above page

[sword-devel] Project Runeberg
Project Runeberg is an initiative patterned after Project Gutenberg that publishes freely available electronic versions of books significant to the culture and history of the Nordic countries. As the works hosted include various Nordic Bibles, and a search of SWORD Dev did not return any results for Runeberg, I thought it warrants a mention. http://runeberg.org/ http://runeberg.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Runeberg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Runeberg -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Project-Runeberg-tp16850722p16850722.html Sent from the SWORD Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ sword-devel mailing list: sword-devel@crosswire.org http://www.crosswire.org/mailman/listinfo/sword-devel Instructions to unsubscribe/change your settings at above page
