Re: [sword-devel] Module upload: OSHB

2018-05-31 Thread David Haslam
Quick feedback on OSHB version 1.4

There are some duplicated items in oshb.conf

Obsoletes=OSMHB
Scope=Gen-Mal
Obsoletes=OSMHB
Obsoletes=OSMHB
Scope=Gen-Mal

And these lines are also dodgy as well as being duplicate keys!

LCSH=Bible.Hebrew.O.T..O.T.

LCSH=Bible. O.T. Hebrew..O.T..O.T.

David

Hi everyone,

I have found a number of issues with the updated OSHB module which I've
reported privately to Peter.

Re: [sword-devel] Module upload: OSHB

2018-01-06 Thread David Haslam
It's not just the email announcements.

Our website looks somewhat stale because the RSS feed is only partially
operational.
https://crosswire.org/sword/index.jsp

Nothing new in the narrow left hand News column since the WHNU module was
released in April 2014.
The first part of the column is headed "Latest new or updated modules:"
That's somewhat misleading when the items shown immediately below are almost
four years old.

Only the central Current News pane is being updated by "refdoc".
That's the same as we have in the RSS feeds.
http://www.crosswire.org/sword/modules/pubmods.rss
or
https://crosswire.org/sword/sword.rss.jsp

I expect the required fix is something trivial that's been overlooked.

Best regards,

David

Re: [sword-devel] Module upload: OSHB

2018-01-05 Thread Peter Von Kaehne

Good point.

The whole automatic email system needs a massive rewrite, but to be honest, it is currently for me only one point of several which still hurt in my semi automatic upload system. I am a lot faster now than I was 4 years ago when I started uploading modules, simply because so much is now run automatically and tested and checked, but there are several bug bears left.

Once I come round again to the publication side, I will take your suggestion very seriously. Up until then please all forgive the weirdness of the messages.

Peter

It might add value for everyone if the module upload notice email includes a link to more information:

http://crosswire.org/sword/modules/ModInfo.jsp?modName=OSHB

This shouldn't take much in the way of logic, and makes it much simpler to figure out what the module identifier code means.
