Hello! My name is Ian Xul, I am a Mathematics major at UNAM in Mexico. I am very excited to participate in GSoC, it sounds like a great opportunity to meet interesting people and learn about good coding practices and working in a team. Besides having taken the usual courses for a math major (linear algebra, the calculuses, group theory, etc.) I also have a big interest in computer science and in software in general. I have coded in a few languages and am pretty comfortable working in Python. Looking through the project list the ideas that most caught my eye were the ones relating to group theory (maybe working with quotient groups would be fun) or the project on finishing the implementation of the Risch algorithm for symbolic integration. About this last one I was wondering if it doesn't have a difficulty measure for a particular reason, and if you had to say what difficulty would it be? I just wanted to send this first message to introduce myself and will do some research these days to have a little more clarity on the projects. I wasn't sure if this is the right place to post my introduction, I hope so ^^ El lunes, 7 de marzo de 2022 a las 17:49:51 UTC-6, asme...@gmail.com escribió:
