The beam module provides the freedom to choose sign convention.
The vertical load in the examples is taken as positive and hence we get a
positive shear.
The image you posted of the beam docs is different from what I am seeing

Hey everyone,
I would like to implement Influence Line diagrams in the Beam Class
of Continuum Mechanics Module. I do believe that they have great practical
applications from the perspective of Civil Engineering and will further
extend the functionality of the beam class.
I have opened up a
Hey Aaron,
I would like to help clean up the ideas page. Please let me know how you
want me to proceed. Should I just search the tags related to ideas and see
how much work has been done and how much can be done in the given coding
period?

Hi,
I would like to know if the idea, *Continuum Mechanics: Create a Rich 2D
Beam Solving System*, will be considered this time or not.
I would also like to know if it is better to
- implement more features in the existing beam module
- Or expand the continuum mechanics module to
I was told that due to COVID-19 outbreak, the number of slots for GSoC 2020
were reduced. I would like to know if a similar thing will happen in GSoC
2021, or will the slots be increased to accommodate more small projects.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know who are the mentors overviewing the continuum
mechanics module apart from Jason Moore. It would be really nice if I knew
more people familiar with this part of Sympy so that I won't have to bug
Jason with every little issue.

Hello Sympy Developers,
My name is Prakhar Saxena. I am a second year undergraduate pursuing civil
engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi.
I have a decent experience of coding in python and have been contributing
to sympy for quite a while now. While going through the ideas
