> WHAT: HOOTE 3.0
> A 5K "race" (we use the term quite loosely) in conjunction with USATF
> National Track and Field Championships. The "event" (we use the term quite
> loosely) is officially unsactioned and includes a slew of non-sponsors.
The
> entry fee is zilch, the prizes are plentiful and weird, the attire is
> extremely casual, the technology virtually non-existent (popsicle sticks
> etc.) Divisions include first naked runner (VERY competitive... see past
> results), first cross dresser, best cross dresser, slowest in relation to
> their all time PR (malmo is the record holder here) and a new division for
> 2001, the centipede. There are sure to be many other divisional award
> categories which we will make up on race day as we see "fit" (we use the
> term quite loosely)
>
> QUALIFICATIONS:
> We have absolutely NO standards (A, B, provisional or otherwise). The
> "event" is open to any schlepper or schlemiel who can drag their butts
over
> 3.1 miles (approximately). No whiners.No crybabies.
> Particularly welcome are USATF head honchos, journalists, USATF meet
> qualifiers (how about some field eventers this year??) and the general
cast
> of knuckleheads that made HOOTIE 1.0 and 2.0 such a "success."
>
> WHERE / WHEN:
> Saturday, June 23rd 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot at Alton Baker Park
(same
> venue as 1999)...out and back on the bike path...awards ceremony to
follow.
>
> BROUGHT TO YOU BY: Joe Rubio, Brian McGuire (macman), Peanut Harms, malmo
> (in absentia) and yours truly...plus a cast of characters who choose to
> remain nameless/blameless.
>
> N.B. results from 1999 and 200 have been posted separately
