Top distance runner in U.S. this year?

Goucher had a nice 7:34, 7:41, and several 13:20's, made the WC final...
Keflezghi had the great 27:13 AR, and made WC team...
Culpepper had the 27:33 and made WC team ...
McMullen went 1:45/3:33 and made the WC final ...
Kennedy had a resurgent year, but was far from his best ...

It has to be Tim Broe!

I tried to find most of Broe's marks and this is what I came up with:

8:26.56 Adidas 4th
8:25.47 USATF (semi) 1st
8:24.66 USATF (final) 3rd (fell)
8:14.62 GGala 7th
8:19.78 Bislett 6th
8:27.26 Worlds (semi) 7th
8:23.07 Worlds(final) 11th
8:20.75 Goodwill 5th

8 sub-8:30s and 2 sub-8:20s ... one year out of college.

The list is hardly complete, but those are the Steeple highlights. Only one
race before USATF. Seems like there should be more than two Euro meets. Of
course, he had the 7:39 in Europe and the 13:24 at Stanford.

PR's in the 3k, Steeple, and 5k. Don't know about 1500/Mile ...

Pretty good!
