settings, and I tested T2, it builds fine. So, it has nothing
to do with libata or smp, seems to be some quirk in the
2.6.24-rc4.

Yes, the handbook should be a quite good start.
From reading the handbook so far, it recommends a t2 install from CD
for cross compiling a t2 for ARM to avoid conflicts with
