[Tagging] key: starting=yes ??

Hi In the Netherlands, I find a key starting=yes, to tag one or more nodes in a route relation for a walking roundtrip as a starting point. Seems to me that, if anything, it should be a role in the relation, not a tag on the node. Right? The dutch wiki page about this recommends using a node
