Hi,
Some data of the map changes often, in particular what's on the
road: traffic signs, bus lines etc.
It would be interesting if someone tackling a region could determine
what in his interests was checked the longest ago. Hence the need
for a date at the
Andre, good post. I like the idea that entries be dated. Like you, i see
problems with using the word survey. In this context, could mean two things.
Maybe the simplest would be date= ???
Or current= ???
Like you, i'd strongly recommend ISO date format.

I don't know if this would be a good idea. Of course it would be the
correct tagging, but on the other hand the typical interpretation of
amenity=atm is, that you get real money. As this fact is kind of
default, it is never tagged. AFAIK bitcoin-atm only handle bitcoins, so
it could lead to

Maybe create a new tag that tells if the ATM is connected to the interbank
network[1] which makes an ATM a classical ATM. For example
interbank_network=yes, or interbank_network=ATH, or whichever interbank
network an ATM is connected to. Maybe there are some ATMs that only take
their own cards,
Maybe we should move towards a scheme more specific about accepted
currencies :
currency:in:USD=yes
currency:out:BTC=yes
For a one-way Bitcoin ATM dispensing BTC in exchange of USD, for example.

We only have to insist on the tag cash_out=no, and then tell renderers to

Sorry Janko, this is pure no-sense.
Should we tag flat areas as natural=peak ele=0 and then tell the renderer
not to render it as a mountain?
Should we tag deserts as
I am not sure that I like (eg) survey:date
A typical road will have a range of data associated with it, lets try it
-
source=survey
name=blah
highway=unclassified
surface=unpaved
lanes=1
survey:date=2014-06-10
I guess that makes good sense, but what if the initial source was, say,
bing ?
Am I missing the fact that we have history on all changes and you can detect
from the history when some tag like surface=unpaved was added to a way?
So that takes care of the initial survey date. Maybe added a *:confirmed=yes
where * is the tag (e.g. surface:confirmed=yes) if it is still
To be honest Tod, I don't think we want to add a *:confirmed= tag to
every existing tag over time.
But as we've both suggested, maybe the solution to Andre's issue is just
to make better use of the date stamps already there ?
