Places with addresses > like this usually don’t have a housenumber. In many communities in the US, all housenumbers are distance based, often from a central chaining origin. They are indeed house numbers when appearing on a postal address: "13430 North Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix, Arizona" is 13.43 miles (yeah, I know, miles, benighted Americans) north of Washington Street, or "4750 W. Peoria Avenue" is 4.75 miles west of Central Avenue. The system goes out a long way, some of the numbers are in the 40- and 50-thousands. ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging

Unless we're talking about different things? I'm referring to "rural addresses" explained here: https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/land/place-names/addresses eg this place https://www.google.com/maps/@-28.0957971,153.2185025,3a,15y,165.25h,81.89t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s70C1uI-CChazsZPPe1-MnA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656, which is 13.85 km along Beechmont Rd Thanks Graeme ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging

In remote locations there are nurses that provide a very large range of medical services. Consider that a doctor may take some hours to arrive by aeroplane, life saving medical procedures may have to be performed by the highest qualified person available - and that may be the local nurse. There is available a pdf book "Where there is no Doctor". I suggest you read it if you want to know what people do without a Doctor. ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
