tahoe-lafs.org upgraded

2016-09-16 Thread Brian Warner
FYI, I just upgraded tahoe-lafs.org to the latest Ubuntu LTS (16.04.1).
Things appear to be running ok, but please let me know if you see
anything that's broken.

cheers,
 -Brian

Alas I don't think that's it. I ran into that during the upgrade, and
before updating the symlink, the pages had content but no styles (the
CSS lived in /chrome , which would 404 with the wrong link). The
.local/venvs directory is the new location (the old location was
/usr/local somewhere).

I think that symlink is correct now, and nothing is 404ing in my
browser. But when I configure uwsgi to use the .local/venv/ trac instead
of /usr/local, the main index.html is completely missing the s with
id= values of "banner", "header", "metanav", "mainnav", "main", and
"footer", leaving only the one with id="content".

I switched it back to /usr/local so as to not impede the release. I'll
fuss again with it next weekend.

still puzzled,
 -Brian

I know what that is. There is a symlink pointing into the installation
of trac that needs to be updated:

$ ls -l /home/trac/htdocs/trac/chrome
lrwxrwxrwx 1 trac trac 68 Feb  6 23:26 /home/trac/htdocs/trac/chrome ->
/home/trac/.local/venvs/trac/lib/python2.7/site-packages/trac/htdocs

(This command shows all symlinks pointing into trac, with some false positives:
sudo find / -lname '*trac[^kei]*' 2>/dev/null |grep -v '/proc'
)

tahoe-lafs.org upgraded

2016-02-06 Thread Brian Warner
Hi folks.. I just finished upgrading the machine that hosts
https://tahoe-lafs.org to the latest Ubuntu LTS. I think everything is
working correctly, but please let me know if you see anything broken.

cheers,
 -Brian

(I tried to move our Trac instance into a virtualenv, but for some
reason every time did that, the headers and footers of each page
disappeared. Pulled my hair out for an hour trying to track it down,
failed, and eventually reverted back to the global install. If anybody
has run into this error before, please let me know what the heck is
going on.. I couldn't figure it out)
