so far i have been able to use the normal windows commands to do this.
go to the first line of text you want and hold down the shift key. arrow down
to the last line of text you want
then press control c to copy to the clip board. then go to the app

The JAWS key is the insert key by default or the capslock key if you
have set it that way.
The key to read from the cursor position to the bottom of the
document is insert + down arrow.
