Press F6 to take it out of protection mode. Then you can use Space F2.

I occasionally receive xl spread sheets that I need to be able to read
character and numbers individually.The files are protected and so I
can't use f2. Is there any way, using Window-eyes that I can cursor
across names and numbers?
