Hello Listers,
I am just wondering if the KNFB Reader can be used as a substitute for
the Openbook program with Windows 10, which I am not in a hurry to
reinstall, and then upgrade.
The clearest way I guess I can ask the question is if one can use a
flatbed scanner with the software

Robert,
The KNFB reader uses a camera in a phone or other divice to take a picture of a
document. Then, it performs optical character recognition (OCR) and reads the
content. Its strongest point is that it performs the OCR in such a way that it
can start reading very quickly. As Josh says
And, in Android land, we have so many apps that work even better than the
KNFB Reader for merely pennies on the dollar! I think that in a few years,
may be weeks and months, many blind folks in Android land will slowly begin
kissing the KNFB Reader goodbye! Heck, there's even one in Android land
use it. So it's not totally necessary. Just my opinion.
