Hi, Bud. The way I deal with the slashes and other punctuation such as dashes and parentheses and other various symbols is this. You have the right idea. Go to the screen node, expand it, then go to punctuation and tab to the math symbols and select either dictionary only or off. I select off. I don't use Firefox enough to determine whether or not the same thing happens.
Mike M P.S. This issue only occurs if you uninstall and reinstall Window-eyes.
