In the old days, many characters in the lower ranges performed functions
rather than bweing displayed. For example, there was a control character
that caused a bell to ring on old teletype machines. I believe it was
CONTROL-G. This character was used in computers to sometimes sound a beep.

Isn't bell some kind of unicode character that is used in some word
tables? I think I have seen this before in some documents, although I
can't rmemeber exactly where.

On almost every key stroke I make there is a bell ring noise.
