Re: WE

2016-02-13 Thread Jonathan Cohn via Talk
Well, WindowEyes uses some of the same techniques to read the screen to you
that a MalWare program would use to steal your passwords and credit card
numbers and send them to thieves. WindowEyes Apps are mostly written in VBS
which is often blocked by more aggressive protection packages. I believe that
AI Squared worked with the vendor mentioned previously and came to a compromise
where independent VBS programs that attempt to connect to the browser are
prevented access,, but WindowEyes ones are allowed. Please don’t take my word
for this, I am reading between the lines of support announcements and the
conclusions might not fully match reality.

Best Wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

Outlook Enhance add in

2016-02-13 Thread Don Risavy, Jr. via Talk
Hello all,

I keep receiving an alert when using Outlook 2016 with WE9.3 that the
outlook enhanced add in was not properly installed and to restart Outlook as
says was corrected; but, each time use Outlook 2016 this message comes back
up from time to time.

So wonder is it a WE9.3 issue or Outlook issue and how can it be fixed so
stop prompting me?

Thanks.

What is your antivirus package? I ask because Web Root Security
Anywhere does not read the desk top and this started with WE
9.2. That problem showed up on a Windows 8.1 machine and we never
could get WE 9.3 installed on either of our machines. If your
computer came from Best Buy recently, check the antivirus package as
they are giving out Web Root Security Anywhere free and you don't
want this free item at any cost.

I think the removal of the offending software will happen this
weekend. I sure would like to say good riddens to that piece of garbage.

Karyn Campbell, Illinois USA, karyn1...@gmail.com and likely Viper
Antivirus on both machines.
Using WE 9.3 on HP Pavilion running Windows 8.1 with Office 2013
and I.E. 11 as well as Assuss convertible laptop running Windows 10
with Office 2013 and I.E. 11 as default browser and Viper Antivirus
on boht machines.

I am retiring.

My career in the Assistive Technology industry started in the late 80's,
working for Computer Aids Corp. for a couple years, where I met Doug
Geoffray. Then I partnered with Doug to launch GW Micro in 1990 which
operated for 24 years, followed by our merging into Ai Squared in 2014. So
now, after almost 28 years in the AT industry, it's time for me to take a
break. I will be retired from Ai Squared after this week. No worries - the
rest of the Fort Wayne office and staff will continue as normal - whatever
normal means .

I'm not very active on this list but I look at many of the posts and I know
many of your names even if we rarely talk on the phone or meet in person. I
will continue to support Ai Squared and if the opportunity presents itself
who knows - I might come back for a few special projects from time to time.
Thank you very much for your support and friendship.

One thing I understand - this industry is very different from all others.
The people I know not only want to stay active, employed or stay in business
but they also want to make the world a better place by providing quality
products and services. You should all be proud of whatever contribution you
personally make.

Thank you all again for your friendship and loyalty over the many years.

Take care,

Dan
