What version of aim is accessible with window eyes 9.4?
I have miranda im and miranda ng and neither of them can seem to
connect to aim has anyone else had this problem with miranda im and
miranda ng? Which version of aim works best with window eyes?
Well, Steve, once again you've come to my rescue. I wish I hadn't been so
impulsive in flinging reason and common sense to oblivion and doing a
re-install of 9.3x then upgrading to 9.4. Ah, well, that just means I get to go
on an app scavenger hunt--not as fun perhaps as an Easter egg hunt, but
As more and more of the newer programs and Windows Store apps use newer
techniques for presenting their information, or use a web browser view, it
becomes more difficult for Window-Eyes to associate a mouse position with
particular information or to define windows that will read info
Also, you can have a user window chain read another user window, which will
override the user window precedents.

The last time I used Chicken Nugget that wasn't too long ago, you needed to add
the shift key to the alt-win-arrow key combinations.
I wonder if it has been fixed so shift isn't required?

If you are using windows 10, its alt-win-w.
To navigate between tweets and buffers it is shift-alt-win arrow keys.

Hi,
Control-numpad 5 doesn't spell lines in a text editor.
It however can spell menu items because when a line isn't detected Window-eyes
does a speak summary when you press control-numpad 5.

Hi:
I just checked in the hotkeys section of the Window-eyes control
panel, and it appears that all the hotkeys for setting up and reading
user windows are still there, but they are undefined.
If one were to redefine those keys, could one still set up a user window?

Hi:
I am using Window-eyes 9.4 on a Windows 7 64-bit system and
I just tried pressing control-numpad 5 twice in Notepad, and, while
Window-eyes read the current line on the first press of
control-numpad 5, the second press of the key combination did not
cause Window-eyes to spell that line.
While in the compose window, click file and choose add attachment from
the file menu. This then pops up a box which I don't understand, but I
just hit the enter key, then click File again and send the message.

Jed,
Alt-windows-uparrow to read tweets. This takes you up in the list and
alt-windows-down arrow takes you down the list.
This changed in Windows 10 and is covered in the documentation which can be

Hello Nolan,
Assuming your Window-Eyes apps are up-to-date, open the WE control panel, and
run Apps -> Diagnostics -> Repair Windows 10 Video Support. Once done, restart
WE, and that should correct the problem. Let us know if it doesn't.

Steve
