RE: Having to turn browse mode off to type in TB

2019-09-05 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Jim,

Sorry.
The older I get, people ask me a question about one thing, and I answer a
question about something else. Smile
Quite some years ago, I converted all my saved email from TB to Outlook and
never looked back.
This is because TB became hard to use in the way you describe.
Prior to that, I had the same experience with Windows Live Mail, prompting the
move to TB.
I had believed strongly that email software should be free, and so I put up
with the difficulties.
Now I choose to subscribe to Office 365, seeing now that you get what you pay
for.
It is both easy to write, manage and back up my email in Outlook.
I am using Window-Eyes to write this very message.
Since Office 365 continually updates, it is true that, now and then,
Window-Eyes has difficulty tracking some controls after some updates for
Outlook.
However, eventually, things always seem to settle down, and, sometimes with a
reinstall of a set file, Window-Eyes finds focus again and becomes usable with
Outlook.
Please allow me to assure you that I am easily upset by software glitches,
especially with something as crucial as email.
However, I believe that Outlook is a solid email client, and not just in
Windows, since I use it on my Mac as well.
If you need any help transitioning to it, please don't hesitate to write.

Good luck in your struggles,

Rod

I realize this as I am using an older version of Fire Fox. My problem is with
Thunderbird my E-mail client. I had been using an earlier version of this as
well however got several notices from my mail server telling me my mail client
was out of date and would be canceled. Thus this was my reason for up grading
Thunderbird. Jaws 19 works with this newer version however I prefer WE. Still
looking for help.
Thanks.
Jim

Hi Jim,

Newer versions of Firefox are not fully accessible with Window-Eyes.
If you wish to continue to use Window-Eyes to browse the web, your best choice
is Google Chrome.

All the best,

My system win 7 home premium we 7.54 and Thunderbird 68.02.
I up graded my Thunderbird program yesterday and have the following problem.
When I try to write a new message or reply I must turn browse mode off to type
text and turn it back on to review what I have written.
I find a Thunderbird write. set associated when I open the write window.
How might I correct this nuisance?
Regards
