Hi guys,
I'm a relative newbie to OSM(I understand it - I just haven't been
involved long), but I just noticed this on the news sites:
http://news.google.co.uk/?ncl=1240671745
I'm seeing articles like this:

I think that's a really great idea, and the correct solution to the
problem. However, it would be a reasonably large

For canal to towpath centreline, it would be 5-10m.
Would it be possible

Ah, I thought I had just been doing something weird when I got that message
yesterday.
It was when switching between the View/Edit tab for me. I couldn't recreate
the error on demand.

Hi,
I'm working on Viking[1], a GPS desktop application with OSM related features.
In order to assist user when uploading its traces to OSM, I wish to
contact OSM, retrieve the previously used tags, and propose these tags
to the user for the new trace.
Is there such API actually?

Peter,
The same idea has occurred to me also. I think far from developing this being a
waste of time, I think it is highly desirable from the point of view of
avoiding multiple ways sharing a set of nodes, which makes editing a nightmare.
It seems all round the most elegant solution for multipl

Use that on a bike, and you'll quickly find that the screen is
unreadable in sunlight (especially when displaying OSM map images
which are typically white or light-coloured roads on a white
background)

Hi guys,
I would like to store this map which i have taken from OSM site which
can be seen via clicking the download link www.megaupload.com/?d=5Y58619K
and store its information such as the names of places, road names,
cor-ordinates etc in a database. Then create an application similar to t

Change this error message for exceptions thrown outside of an action

render correctly as is" statement is not valid.
Firstly - as Thomas pointed out - mapnik likes one feature per way.
Secondly - landuse=grass is not rendered at the moment (because of the
vast disagreement on the whole landu
