Data won't slip away because it is not tagged; it will slip away because
it is not linked.
The linking process benefits from having less coordination.

dear Michal,
This is an interesting set of comprehensive criticisms that gives OSM
something to aim for in terms of a classical maturity model.
However, I wonder what you bring to the party apart from critique. What
are your contributions to OSM?

Interesting thoughts, I note that HOT is interested in how the data is
consumed and in setting some sort of standards. I find the HOT approach
gives some hope for the future. Locally much of the information in OSM is
not readily useable, different spellings in the tags, different tags for

OSM is not mature IMO:
* People are making discussions that come to no conclusion, this is so

There have been a couple of threads on OpenStreetMap’s mailing list this

Spent the last two weeks od December in Malta and have to say that the
OSM data for the island and for Gozo was excellent. Did have the same
problem with OSMAND avoiding the obvious short cuts which I have in the
UK, but given the quality of some of the roads I can understand the

IMHO it is much better - on low zoom levels maps is now less cluttered
and on high zoom levels POIs are now more visible.

Honestly I love this simple grey for buildings. I think they are visible
enough, but don't stick out too much. Which in my opinion is exactly how

Hi!
Recently I was made aware of the android app "myTrails" as a major source of
mass tile downloads. When checking out the app I found that it indeed
includes among many other sources about all the well-known OSM maps and
offers mass downloading for all of them.
What I did not find is any attri
