Re: [OSM-talk] Large number of seemingly automated, non-SEO spam edits
Ethan, If DWG's interaction proves constructive, can you ask for their help getting the word out to other SEO firms? I'm convinced we need to work with them or be constantly faced with fixing or deleting there edits. Is there any key publications/blogs they all follow? Who are the industry leaders? What would they like from OSM to help them? (Its late if this doesn't make much sense) Clifford On Tue, Mar 13, 2018 at 8:18 PM, Ethan Nelson wrote: > On Mar 13, 2018 22:09, "Paul Johnson" wrote: > > > > So what was the story > > > It was the case of someone uploading data erroneously. Let us know if anything good comes of the block. I'm sure you'll hear otherwise. The DWG is (now) aware of it :) There are 8 accounts with changeset comments matching this pattern right now. Hoping they don't change it once they start getting blocked. I haven't seen anything like that in Washington State. Still getting the occasional "updated" changeset comment. Paul - it seems like they should be reported to DWG. The first user on your list, Mike Gothie has 83 edits. One was pure garbage. If the others are like that I'd report them all.
