2014-03-04 Thread David .
Hi, I have noticed some edits on the Werribee line (Victoria) adding 'Station' to the end of station names. Is this correct? Thanks, David. From: talk-au-requ...@openstreetmap.org Subject: Talk-au Digest, Vol 80, Issue 5 To: talk-au@openstreetmap.org Date: Sun, 16 Feb 2014 03:47:18 +

I actually think the word station on the name is coming with some form of import of Public Transport Victoria data. I've been cutting it off when I see it appear. Also I've noticed people are adding closed, disused or whatever to the name tag. Possibly because disused isn't being rendered

That's wrong. Stations should only be named without 'station'. Thus, 'Altona station' shall be shown as 'Altona'. VU PHAM MINH TUAN Tuan Sent from my iPhone On 16 Feb 2014, at 2:14 pm, Dssis1 david.sisour...@hotmail.com wrote: Hi, I have noticed some edits on the Werribee line (Victoria)

I'd keep both names - name= and alt_name= ( or old_name=). This is better for lookup purposes, as either version would then find this station. And it's not wrong, as it seems the other version was correct at one time. Whether that would be acceptable to the other editor is another problem.
