Re: [OSM-talk-be] missing affiliation on BIPT website
Thursday 27 August 2015 07:26:47, Nicolas Pettiaux: Would any of you have ideas or suggestions (and the time) to contribute to the letter that I would send ? I keep an archive of the letters I send at the wiki[1]. I posted them to the list prior to sending them and no-one complained :p They're in Dutch but maybe you can draw some inspiration from them. Does anyone else have such a list of their sent letters? Would any of you have ideas or suggestions (and the time) to contribute to the letter that I would send ? Yes, you might ask him if, in return of the help we bring, IBPT would let us import and update their antenna data. They would in turn benefit from that in being able to display antennas on that map right from OSM. I once tried to get in contact with their official e-mail address but they did not reply. Trying to convince someone of them would be a more successful way. The SPW contains an antenna map (cadastre), but not all the details the IBPT could provide. In case of reluctance, but only then, tell them that they can restrict the data they send us (or let us use). The minimum is obviously the coordinates. They have address, operators, IDs http://www.sites.bipt.be/index.php?language=FR and maybe more. Thanks for doing this, Cheers André. Note; we call that attribution. [OSM-talk-be] missing affiliation on BIPT website
The Belgian Institute for Postal services and Telecommunications (BIPT) has used OSM data at [1], without providing the proper affiliation [2]. I cannot find if a member of the OSM community has contacted the BIPT to rectify this, other than the attempt made by user Cheezycrust to get them to consider using OSM maps on a different page of theirs [3]. I'm checking the mailing list to make sure I don't spam them if someone already brought this to their attention. Also, I'm asking if there's a typical template used in situations as these?
