Hi, I'm cc'ing your notice to talk-ca. So the CanMatrix TIFFs, although georeferenced, they are older. However, they can still be used with Merkaarator. For those of you who have been under a rock about Merkaarator, (like me) the editing tool is very good. It allows nice viewing of WMS layers,

Cool, that just added another todo list item :) And so, the GeoTIFFs, albiet dated, can be used as a handy backdrop background. Sorting the data by physical geographical area, seems to be what the cool people does these days. NTS grid is prefered. Cheers, Sam On 6/23/10, Dan Putler

JOSM is currently allergic to GeoTIFFs. The only direct way around it is to use the PicLayer plugin and take a screanshot view of an area and manually move it around. An option is to use mapwarper to make a wms of it, that requires making control points. So i dont know what is faster. Russell
