In a note similar to the earlier one on GPS Tracks. The data layer
has moved. This happened several weeks ago.

When the layer switcher was improved a while back, it was changed from
the "mysterious white on blue plus sign" to a drop down with the word
"Standard" showing by default. The also "mysterious unless you were
an initiate" layer names like "mapnik" and "osmarender" were also
changed.

There are dozens of other little changes that are being rolled out one
or two at a time. Often the changes are so subtle that you might
realize "something is different" but you can't be sure what it is that
changed. Did you note when the "tabs" went away? :-)

But about the data layer. It used to be available as an overlay in
the layer switcher. Now, no the top menu, hover over the tell-tale
beside the "Edit" entry. When the list appears, select "Browse map
data".

Other changes I don't notice. There are a couple of ways to find out
what changed, and why. You can ask here or on other lists. You can
watch the dev@ list and see discussion of new features before they are
rolled out. You can follow the git commits and see the changes as
they are rolled out. You can watch the #osm IRC channel and get a
combination of the discussion, and helpful people to answer questions.

As always, OpenStreetMap is an open data project as well as a Free /
Libre Software / Open Source project. Your contributions are welcome.
So if you have ideas about what should be improved, please dive into
the code and offer patches.
