I've had a similar issue recently. I used to have a node
representing the exit to a block of flats and on the node I had
addr:housenumber=31-37 and also on the node addr:interpolation=odd

I've been experimenting with tracing buildings from OS StreetView and
surveys on foot. I'd previously added address info with simple interpolation
ways, but for various reasons it may be useful in my area to get every
building in.
