Further to this destination is Abbots Bromley, final details,( choice end
up being more down to pub food than other considerations):

   - Meet at Buttercross Abbots
Bromley, 10:30. This is close to the Goats Head.

Split into groups in the morning, one to map paths in the village & to the
SW towards the reservoir.
Others may need to drive a little way out to maximise path mapping effort

   - Lunch at Coach & Horses ,
Abbots Bromley aiming for 12:30 for 12:45

   - Afternoon walks 14:15 ish (again perhaps starting at another location
   reached by car).

Pre-meetup armchair mapping of hedgerows, buildings etc can commence!

Park either close to Buttercross or in Coach & Horses car park.

[Talk-GB] New Year Midlands OpenStreetMap Mapping Meet: date fixed 30th Dec

2015-12-15 Thread SK53
Dear All,

I've selected Wednesday 30th December for our footpath mapping meet.

There are still two options (with maps comparing PRoW data & OSM
designation):

   - based on Black Lion at Consall Forge

.
Probable initial meeting point in Ipstones just to the E, as this has
slightly more mapping options & is more accessible than the pub car park.
The area to the W contains a number of woods some of which are nature
reserves, so it would be nice to finish off the quarterly project in this
   way.
   - based on Goat's Head, Abbots Bromley

. There are enough paths in the village itself and in the area to SW for a
   morning mopping-up exercise.

I want to chat with Andy about these possibilities tonight.

Note that the umaps don't distinguish paths which are mapped on OSM, but
w/o designation tags.

Cheers,

Jerry
