Hi Brian Thank you that is great, I was looking in vain for a highway= ??? able to catch all. Did not know I could just use "highway" I tend to adapt ones I have used before. with k and V values. maybe the grammar has new rules. for mine see

I fancy having final image being the shape of the county. I have tried using what I used in my example but to no avail. I know if I export it to JOSM I can lop off any outlying bits of roads rivers etc. before I import it to Maperitive.
