I hesitate to say what is relevant to OpenStreetMap.  For example many trees are mapped but locally we lost about a quarter of them in a recent storm.  Is mapping all the trees in Canada relevant to OpenStreetMap?  Keeping the number of trees up to date or even shop opening hours for that

Just to take this a little further there is one application that comes to mind which is construction where accuracy to the cm is useful. Certainly these days it is used commercially. So if you're building something in a remote location and not buried in the forest it might actually be useful.
