Hi Blake,

You can also reach out to

http://mapproject.se/

I can as well make an in-person introduction if required, but all should be
fine with all those contacts provided.

All the best.

[Talk-africa] OpenStreetMap Data Model for Sports, MapSet

2018-07-04 Per discussione Douglas Ssebaggala
Dear OSM Community,

Advance apologies for cross-posting.

Could any one point out an OSM data model that has been used for sports
activities, or any past, present, or future-planned project that has/will
make use of sports, for example: football/soccer or swimming to be specific?

The existing list of OSM based services

only
mentions hiking, geocaching and biking. Other information on taginfo
is very scanty. Although - *OSM
Stories *seems not updated of recent, there are no sports-related case
studies.

The OSM Wiki as
well has information on sports and related tags
, which has been used to
update the *Data and Mapping

-
*section of MapSet - Wiki Page still a work in progress.

Most organisations consider sport as a corporate social responsibility
(CSR) activity, other individuals do sport for leisure, whereas talented
individuals do sports as a career.

In the humanitarian world, sports can fall in the category of livelihood
 with various themes
but there could be other numerous
ways of applying sports in different fields.

MapSet would like to engage* volunteer passionate mappers* from
existing mapping
groups

and communities in Uganda and else where to create a new initiative/focus
on sports.

Feel free to send your comments on the above wikis/references, directly to
me, or respond to this thread.
