It's the time of the year! Happy International Women's Month!
Since 2018, the Information and Communications Technology Management Service
(ICTMS) of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) celebrates the
Women’s Month through MAPAbabaeworkshops. MAPAbabae is a fusion of mapa (map)
and babae (woman), and alsomeans “map a woman” and/or “women as one.” This
year, we would like to enjoinall women* for MAPAbabae 2020 on March 19, 2020,
Thursday, 8:30AM to 5PM at the DSWD Central Office Boardroom (4F Matapat
Building), QC.
MAPAbababe 2020 aims to provide an introduction about women’sparticipation in
mapping/GIS/geospatial and a venue to discuss women’sperspectives in the same
field. Theywill be taught to map places which are important to them as women
in paper anddigital. Overall, the said activity will be aworkshop to encourage
visibility of women on the map, and on how we can mapthrough a collaborative
and gender-inclusive approach.
We have five (5) slots for the local mapping/GIS community and individuals who
would like to attend the event. Slots are limited so please fill out the online
form: http://bit.ly/MAPAbabae2020Reg to confirm your attendance, and for the
Activity Program.
