Dear everyone, Something I've been thinking about recently is the concept of "completeness" in OSM. As more and more people and groups are interested in using OSM data, the common question I am often asked is: "what areas in the Philippines is complete?".
This is very difficult to answer because as we always say: "the world is always changing, so the map is never complete" ;). But surely, we need to in a way describe an area as to what level of mapping is done. Eugene created a good framework on this concept he called Geodata_detail_levels [0]. He even provided good examples of map products we can reference as to the kind of mapping detail. I think this is a very good initial evaluation mechanism to define the level of detail (LOD) in OSM. I would like for us to discuss and improve the LOD concept Eugene started. Maybe we can add more information on the "Data requirements" section for LOD 3-7? Side note, I'm trying to work on LOD1 this year [1] ;) Any ideas?
