Unfortunately in the case of public schools, a lot of stuff is going to have to be dealt with by parents. The administrations don't know what to do or expect with a blind student, so parents need to be the informed ones and also to help provide information and support for it to work. I'd send my blind kid to public school definitely over US blind schools, but that's just me. In the very short time I've had to deal with American blind schools, I.E. a few weeks total of my life, I'd have to say that public schools are loads better, despite the inherent flaws that come with the system. . You do at least have a shot at an education of some sort. The blind schools tend to teach so far under the age thingy it's not funny. I knew a guy who graduated first... and last... in his class.
