The Talk2 List jaws voices and mp3 files
Hi list, does anyone know of a text to mp3 program that uses the version of eloquence used by jaws, rather than the IBM's via voice outloud? I'm doing a study on the prosodic qualities of eloquence (you'll hear about that when i have my survey up and running) and would like to use eloquence rather than viavoice. tasha

The demo of Window-Eyes comes with Dectalk Access 32, but most likely due to licensing issues it doesn't include Eloquence. I've been using Window-Eyes since version 5.0 though, so I therefore have had no reason to look at the newest demos of the program. Steve Did you miss a message? Open up voice options in Text Aloud, and be certain that the dialog is set to list both SAPI4 and SAPI5 voices. Next, tab to the voice engines treeview and select ETI Eloquence and expand the item. Underneath you will find all of the Eloquence voices you have installed. Clicking Set as Default, OK, and finally answering Yes to the resulting question should do the trick. If Text Aloud is set to show both Sapi4 and Sapi5 engines, then Eloquence should show up in the voices tree. All I can think is that (1) Eloquence is not properly installed or (2) the version which comes with the Window-Eyes demo is not SAPI compatible. Steve Did you miss a message?
