Yes, but unfortunately, that's already included as part of the package when you install Windows Live! messenger, and protects from legitimate bios updates, only allowing those specified thingies to get through. Yep. And apparently Microsoft is considering buying Ebay to keep MSN going, which means they would also aquire PayPal and Skype. Kind of a stupid way to go about it, really. http://news.com.com/2061-11199_3-6077695.html Did you miss a message? Well, don't. http://www.mail-archive.com/talk2%40andrelouis.com/ has it for you. I don't think that's gonna happen without the law stepping in, and considering the age of that story, think that that's all but dead. Good thing too, I don't want Microsoft controlling Skype. - Original Message - From: Patrick Perdue [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: talk2 talk2@AndreLouis.COM Sent: Monday, March 19, 2007 4:14 PM Subject: Re: The Talk2 List I guess this is a bad thing... Or maybe Skype/Outlook/Live Messenger/Ebay/MSN Gaming zone (is that still around?) and other fun things will all emerge to create Skype live! email, where everyone can see everyone else's mail, cut in on each other's messenger conversations, and, with the aid of Microsoft Money, efficiently take control of your finances by buying random things on your behalf on the new Microsoft Ebay, all by simply participating in a skype conference! Yeah, fun times! -- -- Gotta agree with you there on that one, Windows Live is a pile of utter shite. I wish I'd never bothered installing it on here, but lucky for me it's just my laptop and not my primary machine. When I built my desktop, I had kicking around on my server driver, a copy of MSN 7.5 which promptly got installed as I like it lots better than Live. Live can take a dive for all I care. Contact exceleration has gone. IE, typing in a contact's name and jumping directly to that contact. NOw you type the first couple of letters (or more) and all it does now is to say found: XX contacts and give you a list of those. To clear that, you use the wonderful backspace key and start from the very damn top of your list. Now in a way that's like the Nokia contacts editor but in a phone, I can deal with that. Where it's a list view or whatever, it should be like it always has been but oh no, they had to go screw that up didn't they? Yes, they did. Aah well, rant over. Annoying little bastards are Microsoft! Go die! Did you miss a message? Well, don't. http://www.mail-archive.com/talk2%40andrelouis.com/ has it for you. Never miss a Talk2 message again.

Oh, but that is surely too bad, now isn't it? You know why? Because Windows Live! messenger users will now get a free copy of Vista flashed on their flashable bios chips. Ya know, a cute little mini-copy that only allows your machine to run Windows Vista or later variants thereof, with no backwards compatibility for XP, 2k, 98, or earlier versions of Windows products, even under virtual machines! Any peripheral with a line-in or other audio capture device will automatically be disabled. All high-end sound interfaces will become totally useless. Video capturing is out of the question too, despite the fact that there are no such hardware limitations. You are only allowed to play the wave files from the default Windows Vista sound scheme, and only between the hours of 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday. You will get no network access or sounds on Sunday, since this is the day of rest. You will, however, get to view the complimentary 3d flowerbox screen saver. Non-Christian cultures will simply have to deal, or face the consequences. All you need do is simply use Windows Live! messenger for a year or more, and your bios will automatically be branded. Too bad if your machine is incapable of actually running Vista -- you're stuck with it after that point! -- -- Patrick Perdue (MCP, CNA) KE4DYI Greensboro, NC website: http://www.pdaudio.net home: +1(828)475-4004 Mobile phone and SMS: +1(336)509-5583 e-mail and .net messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For anything related to the yamaha motif line of keyboards and modules, subscribe to the motif-help mailing list by sending a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This message originally sent in reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 7:32 PM EST.
