Re: The Talk2 List A little mind-boggler for you
Nope ... no-one's got it so far. It's only a tiny little word. Keep on trying. Gosh this is fun! Lynn

What about..um...methanphetamine or however you spell it? I think I'm wrong. But it's worth a try. - Original Message - From: derek Lane To: talk2 Sent: Friday, January 11, 2008 6:17 AM Subject: Re: The Talk2 List A little mind-boggler for you Well, the closest thing I can think of is millennium. But I know 2 things: 1. just saying that would have resulted in a 1 line talk2 message. 2. and that would have been really really borring. - Original Message - From: Lynn reaper To: talk2 Sent: Friday, January 11, 2008 5:19 AM Subject: The Talk2 List A little mind-boggler for you Hi all I just have to share this with someone, because it made me laugh so much, and I thought since it had me baffled for a little while, I'd present you all with the same sinario as what just happened to me, and see if you can figure what happened. I was playing Boggle, which is a game where you have to pick out words from a grid of letters, and I'd started to struggle to find words, so was looking down the list of what I already had, and suddenly, my text to speech hit upon a word, and spouted out one thousand and nine. Thinking something must have flashed up on screen or something, though why it would do that, I couldn't say, I tried going up and down to the previous and nextwords, which read ok, but this one word would keep reading as one thousand and nine. All of a sudden, I got it, without actually looking at the word in question. So now, here's your challenge. Can you guess what the word was, and why it read like that? I'll give you one clue, to be fair, because I probably wouldn't have got it without knowing this: The words I was looking at at the time all started with the letter M. Have fun Lynn

This is the only thing I can think of that comes remotely close to what you described with such an end-result. I have no auto-translation for such things, though. m = 1000 i = 1 x = 10 10-1 (since I comes before X) = 9 -- -- Patrick Perdue (MCP, CNA) KE4DYI Greensboro, NC website: http://www.pdaudio.net home: +1(336)698-4417 Mobile phone and SMS: +1(336)509-5583 e-mail and .net messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] aim: noaptiva This message originally sent in reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 11:14 AM EST. Well done Tasha, you're dead right, and yours was the first e-mail I got. Also well done Patrick, and good on ya for giving the whole answer to the challenge. I hope you all enjoyed fathoming that one out. I certainly found it fun, and the way it happened to me in the first place made it even more so. I may be back with more in the future if I can think up any. Lynn

Uniqueness doesn't count. Should we be concerned that methamphetamine was the first word that you thought of? Caitlin H wrote: Hey, you have to admit that my try was unique. I don't know...should you? Whether or not you're concerned is really you're prerogative, now, isn't it? Asking me is rather irrelevant. :-) - Original Message - From: Derek C [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: talk2 talk2@AndreLouis.COM Sent: Friday, January 11, 2008 7:59 PM Subject: Re: The Talk2 List A little mind-boggler for you Uniqueness doesn't count.
