No, you should get an email.

Hmm.. strange. I get replies to normal messages I send. I wonder if I'm
alone in this.

Not sure what a 'satisfaction' is, either.

By the way, is there any way to enumerate all the changesets discussions
in which a given user has commented ? There is of course
http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussions but it doesn't cover that
use case.

It would make sense if everybody could understand english which is not the
case, except if we want only english speaking OSM contributors.

This is imho too far, if I map in my country and I make a local change why
I should write in english? Another topic could be if the changeset involves
an import or a discussed large scale edit...

Taken another way, when on holiday in another country where I don't know the
language well enough to be able to talk/write it, I'll write in English a
language that I do know. There are translation tools out there, thus although a
tad awkward, can be used to get and idea of what has been written.

Yes, using English is the best thing to do, if not knowing the local language.

Thanks.

I always wonder if the area/region is really important as it is already
included in the changeset data. E.g. I would not add the street, if it is
obvious where I did edit. This does not count for big areas.

I try not to bother putting in the placename or the thing I
modified. Both of those things they can figure out from using the
changeset browser. Instead, I try to say why I made the change.

Conversely, I do try to include the place name if it is new or a
likely destination; if Google sniffs the OSM changeset list, it might
come up in a search even before the web site is indexed.

Even if Google isn't allowed to see changesets, it often simplifies
others' history review.
