Hey Mark and John, great versions. I agree that this tunes seems
simple at first and the deeper you dig, the more grubs you find.
 Thanks for posting your versions.

Nice job, Brian. I like the continuous alternating strokes in the
latter part of the tune you put in.

Joe

I seem to notice a trait of Tater followers, and maybe it's a Monroe
trait,
there's a lot of slidin' goin' on. Is that an emulation of the fiddle
in
some manner? I know John Hartford considered Big Mon to be America's
best
fiddler. Or, so he stated in the song, The Cross-Eyed Child.

Chirps' Mississippi Palisades and Grub Springs

2010-12-31 Thread Brian Ray
Chirps came over yesterday and cut a number of tunes. Unfortunately, my camera
was misbehaving so there some glitches in some of the tunes (stupid camera). So
my new years present to myself is a new camera (will be here Monday) that is
tapeless

Anyway, as promised, I've posted two versions of Chirps playing Mississippi
Palisades; one a bit slower than the other:
Normal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWLgXUnUxOc
Slower: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBsdtMR1r3o

He also threw down his version of Grub Springs (another last-minute Dec entry!):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNFzp5Snm0U

There are other gems in there too which I'll post as time permits...

Schmappy Moo Fare! (that's Happy New Year in drunk).
