Thanks, I might give that a try if any of this gets in any way consistent... I habitually check a few specific folders each morning and yesterday ALL of those were mis-sorted and focused on an unexpected message. Today, all were exactly as expected. I'm starting to suspect that viewing /some other folder/ is somehow messing up the next (or previous?) folder viewed.
