I noticed that after shutting down TB it takes ages before the program
really disappear from memory (I used taskmanager to check for this).
Do you have your folders set up to purge and compress on exit?

I know you can't shut down TB while the connection centre is open,
which makes sense, but I've noticed that if I delete the last
remaining task in the CC or abort it entirely, I still can't shut down
