Please include a signature delimiter in your messages. This consists
of a dashdashspacereturn, i.e., a '-- ' by itself on a line.
This allows your readers, when replying, to quote your text without
the signature and list footers since everything below and including
the sig delimiter is excluded when quoting.

You can easily automate this process by including the sig delimiter in
your templates.

Even if you barely have a signature to speak of, that doesn't make any
difference to whether or not you need a cut mark. You are being
courteous to other readers since at least three lines of text is added
to your signature by the list server.

Re: Faulty operation of 'Read' filters by 'SmartSpace' shortcut.

2007-08-28 Thread MAU
Hello Roger,

I usually navigate from one unread message to the next by using the
'SmartSpace' shortcut. Apart from moving to the next message this is also
set to mark the message being left as 'Read' and this action usually serves
to trigger any associated 'Read' filter. However, if the message being
departed is the last unread message in a folder containing several messages,
or if it is the only message in a folder, then any 'Read' filter *IS NOT
 TRIGGERED*.

Can anyone else confirm this please?

I don't use SmartSpace myself. But I have configured it to run a few test
and yes, I can fully confirm you findings.

What's the BT number?

When you use smartspace reading do you always have to select the

I can confirm this behaviour for setting the 'favourite' bit for a

Unchecking the favourite bit deletes the group info too.

POP3 hangs occassionally

2007-08-28 Thread Zeynel Öztürk
Hello tbbeta members,

Since I switched to Gmail from Gmx pop3 server, the mail check
task in Connection Centre hangs occasionally, about 4-5 times a
day (checking interval is 1 min). The last log entry always show:
Cannot connect to server but task stays in Connection Center.
What is irritating Delete task button doesn't work or exiting
The Bat! normally causes TB! to hang. I use taskmanager to kill
TB! process. As I watched from log it sometimes hangs for e.g.
4-5 mins (but sometimes hours) and and continues to check mail
afterwards.

Note: My internet connection is up all the time so it can't be
the cause.

Note 2: My connection time out in account options is 30 secs so
its also not the cause.

I think, even there is a connection, firewall, etc. problem, TB
shouldn't hang, waiting all the time, since I've a timeout have
been set already.

For The Bat!, both macros return the same string, but we have other products
based on The Bat! for which these macros may differ.

BTW, there are two macros %SoftwareNameTitle and %SoftwareNameConst which are
synonyms for %TheBatNameTitle and %TheBatNameConst

%TheBatNameTitle is a user-friendly name, may contain national characters and
may change from version to version.

%TheBatNameConst only contain latin characters and never changes. It is used to
name registry branches, file directories, etc.

Can anyone else confirm this please?

M I don't use SmartSpace myself. But I have configured it to run a few test
M and yes, I can fully confirm you findings.

M What's the BT number?

 Please add your confirmation.

I didn't include it in my original message as I was going to make a new

I seem to have not received some messages lately, including the one you
replied to! Thanks for doing the testing.

SC Yes I can confirm this. Works until you get to the last message.

SC When you use smartspace reading do you always have to select the
SC message you are reading before using it. I mean that the focus cannot
SC be in the folder pane or on the message list when you start using it.

No, as far as I can see you can be anywhere. It just goes to the first
unread message in the folder which has focus, or if there is not one it
moves to another folder. I'm not sure how it decides which other folder to
 move to next.

Re: [beta 21] VIP handling corrupt

2007-08-28 Thread Sebastian Murawski
Hello TheBat Beta List Members!!!

Someday, and that was in evening, Roelof wrote something like this:
SM In new beta is VIP handling corrupt. When I add VIP to contact in
SM address book, TB move this contact from group to main address
SM book. Drop down list on new message is wrong and address are not
SM in groups.

I guess you mean when you add somebody to 'favourites', my address
book has no VIP setting. I can confirm this behaviour for setting
the 'favourite' bit for a contact. It used to be different, because
I've got several contacts with the favourite bit set, who're still
member of AB groups. Unchecking the favourite bit deletes the group
 info too.

Did you create a entry in bugtrack for this?

No. My english is to bad. Please open bugtrack entry and I add my
note.

Hello TheBat Beta List Members!!!

Similar issue with SmartSpace - create filter that park read message
(for example when is from [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Filter works when you go to next
message through cursors but not work with Smart Space at all.

I see this issue on common folders. Maybe on accounts also exists.

This beta should fix startup problems and open EML problems
reported by Hendrik Oesterlin, MAU, Stuart
Cuddy and Marek Mikuš. I would like these persons to confirm
whether the problem has gone or not.

I did tot jet try tbb399223, but in actual beta 3.99.23 I can now open
an MSG file if TB is already running.

If TB is closed, double click on MSG file opens main windows of TB,
but it is freezed. Killing by task manager makes appear the following
message from explorer.exe:

---
C:\Documents and Settings\Hendrik\Bureau\0001.MSG

Le fichier 'C:\Documents and Settings\Hendrik\Bureau\0001.MSG' (ou un de
